Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground pork sausage mild, spicy, or your favorite variety
  • 2 cups Bisquick baking mix
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese room temperature is best
  • Optional Add-Ins:
  • 1/4 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp onion powder
  • Pinch of cayenne pepper
  • 1 tbsp chopped parsley for garnish

Instructions

  • Preheat Oven: Set to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Mix Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, combine sausage, Bisquick, and cheese. Use your hands or a stand mixer with the paddle attachment. Mix until just combined.
  • Form Balls: Roll mixture into 1-inch balls and place them about 1 inch apart on the baking sheet.
  • Bake: Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown and the sausage is cooked through.
  • Serve Warm: Garnish with parsley if desired and serve with honey mustard, ranch, or your favorite dipping sauce.

Notes

  • Don't overmix: This can make the sausage balls dense. Mix until just combined.
  • Room temperature ingredients make mixing easier and more even.
  • Use a cookie scoop for uniform sizes and even baking.
  • Don’t overcrowd the pan: Give each ball space to cook evenly.
  • Check internal temp: Sausage should be cooked to 160°F internally.
