- 1 ½ cups rolled oats – old-fashioned oats work best chewy texture
- ½ cup nut butter – peanut butter almond butter, or cashew butter
- ½ cup vanilla protein powder – whey plant-based, or your favorite brand
- ⅓ cup honey or maple syrup – natural sweetener to bind everything
- ¼ cup mini chocolate chips – optional but they make them so good!
- 2 tablespoons chia seeds or ground flaxseed – adds fiber and omega-3s
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract – for flavor
- Pinch of salt – balances the sweetness
Mix dry ingredients – In a large bowl, combine oats, protein powder, chia seeds, and salt. Stir well. (2 minutes)
Add wet ingredients – Stir in nut butter, honey (or maple syrup), and vanilla extract. Mix until a sticky dough forms. (3–4 minutes)
Stir in extras – Fold in mini chocolate chips or any add-ins. (1 minute)
Form balls – Use a cookie scoop or tablespoon to portion the mixture. Roll between your palms into balls. (10 minutes)
Chill – Place the protein balls on a parchment-lined baking sheet and refrigerate for 30 minutes before eating.
-
Wet your hands before rolling to prevent sticking.
